Materials
Find out what materials we use to create your dream 3D object.
EPS
EPS (expanded polystyrene) is a lightweight, insulating and easily machined material often used for insulation and packaging. Advantage: Insulation, lightweight, easy to machine, wide range of different densities from very soft to hard. Disadvantage: Spherical texture.
XPS
XPS (extruded polystyrene) is a strong and durable material often used for insulation, cladding and roofing. Advantage: Strong, durable, good insulation, no ball texture but smoother appearance than EPS. Disadvantage: Only one hardness available and limited in dimensions.
PU
PU (polyurethane) is a plastic material often used for insulation, cladding and foam. Advantage: Good insulation, lightweight, PU80 is firmer and finer to finish than EPS or XPS, well sandable and can hold a lot of detail. PU40 is easier to process than PU80. Disadvantage: Not recyclable.
Biofoam
Biofoam is an eco-friendly foam based on biological raw materials, often used as an alternative to traditional foams. Advantage: Biodegradable, environmentally friendly. Disadvantage: Can be more expensive than traditional foams.
Wood fiberboard
Wood fiberboard is a material made from compressed wood fibers, often used for insulation, wall covering and as a substrate for floors. Advantage: Environmentally friendly, natural insulation material. Disadvantage: Not moisture-resistant.
MDF
MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) and is a material made by pressing wood fibers together with a binder under high pressure and temperature. The result is a smooth and dense board material used in the furniture and construction industries. Advantage: Smooth surface, uniform structure. Disadvantage: Sensitive to moisture and not suitable for outdoor projects.
